I’ve been home for over 2 weeks now and it seems that the post-travel blues (PTB) have final caught up with me. Those of you who have traveled I know can relate to that awful feeling of the ‘back to reality’ check. My first week home was great! I hid out in my beautiful cozy apartment with my wonderful cat Penelope catching up on 2 months of work, I had daily visits from my best friends, and I was keeping myself busy. And then, as the story goes, the reality check hits you like a brick wall; the novelty of seeing my friends, who I missed so dearly, has worn off, I have no job (thus no steady income and although I have now applied for over 16 jobs, I haven’t heard from any), I have finished all the work i needed to do, the weather has turned and I’m no longer finding myself in the tropical paradise of Africa, I miss hiking and being outside and mostly now I’m bored as heck!
Here is an update of the last 2 weeks in Vancouver. (despite the blues I’m really glad to have my friends back!)
